This Federal Cartridge Corporation / Sears, Roebuck & Co. manufactured blue, brown and off-white cardboard box contains 44 of the original 50 rounds of Sta-Klean Xtra-Range 22 LR ammunition with brass cases and lead lubricated bullets and is in about very good condition with moderate wear. The top panel states that this ammunition is for rifles only. The bottom panel displays seven lines of information above "SEARS, ROEBUCK AND CO.". The inside of each end flap displays a pressure and velocity warning. The last sentence reads "These cartridges are for rifles only.". Below this warning is the distance warning "RANGE ONE MILE / BE CAREFUL / Sears, Roebuck and Co.". The product code No. 302 is printed on all four sides of the box. The brass casings display the "XR-1" headstamp and have a few spots of tarnish present.  (file photos)

Date of Manufacture: It is not known for sure when this box was first produced, but it may have been around 1932.

Note: This box is the Huegel # SEARS-6 LR-4(e) variation. This box displays the # 2 style top, "B" style bottom, and # 4 style inner end flap warning on both end flaps. The brass casings display the "XR-1" headstamp.
